FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about Scoblade — from getting started to enterprise deployments.
Getting Started
What is Scoblade?
Scoblade is a SCORM management and delivery platform for content publishers. You upload your SCORM packages once, then deploy them to any number of client LMSs via secure endpoints — no re-packaging, no file transfers.
How do I get access?
Scoblade is currently in early access. Request access on our signup page and we'll respond within 2 business days. Early access includes full platform access and a guided onboarding session.
What does onboarding look like?
Once your account is provisioned, a dedicated onboarding specialist will walk you through uploading your first package, setting up your first client, and configuring a deployment endpoint — typically in a single session.
Do I need technical expertise to use Scoblade?
No. The Scoblade dashboard is designed for content and learning teams. Uploading packages, managing clients, and pushing deployments are all point-and-click. Technical configuration (API keys, LMS setup) is covered in our setup guides.
Content & Versioning
What SCORM versions does Scoblade support?
Scoblade supports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 (all editions). Both formats are validated on upload and delivered through compatible runtime endpoints.
How does versioning work?
Every upload creates a new version of a package. You control which version is active for each deployment. Promoting a new version updates all licensed clients automatically — no manual re-deployment needed.
Can I roll back to a previous version?
Yes. Any previous version can be restored as the active version from the Content Library with a single action. Rollbacks take effect immediately across all deployments using that content.
Is there a limit on how many packages I can upload?
Package limits depend on your plan. During early access, we work with each publisher to agree on a catalog size that fits their needs. Contact us to discuss high-volume requirements.
Can I organize my content into folders or categories?
Yes. The Content Library supports folders, tags, and search so you can organize large catalogs efficiently. Content can be grouped and filtered by course type, subject, or any label you define.
Clients & Licensing
Can I manage multiple clients from one account?
Yes — this is a core use case for Scoblade. You can create as many client organizations as you need. Each client has isolated content, licensing windows, learner data, and its own set of deployment endpoints.
How do licenses work?
You assign content entitlements to each client, optionally with seat limits and expiry dates. Clients can only launch content they are licensed for. Licenses can be updated or revoked at any time.
What are client portals?
Client portals are lightweight branded pages where your clients can view the content they have access to, download deployment URLs, and access documentation. Portals are provisioned per client from your dashboard.
Can clients see each other's data?
No. Client data is strictly isolated. Each organization's content, learner records, and usage data are entirely separate — there is no cross-tenant visibility at any level.
Deployment & LMS Integration
Which LMS platforms are compatible?
Any SCORM 1.2 or 2004 compatible LMS. This includes Moodle, Cornerstone OnDemand, Docebo, SAP SuccessFactors, Absorb LMS, TalentLMS, Blackboard, Canvas, and many others.
How does a client add Scoblade content to their LMS?
You provide the client with an endpoint URL (or a pre-packaged launch wrapper) from the Scoblade dashboard. They add it to their LMS like any other SCORM course. No file transfer or re-upload is needed on their side.
What happens when I publish a new content version?
Promoting a version in Scoblade updates the delivery endpoint immediately. All clients licensed for that content start receiving the new version on their next launch — no changes required on the LMS side.
Can I test a deployment before releasing it to clients?
Yes. Scoblade supports staging environments where you can validate a new version in a test LMS before promoting it to production and notifying clients.
Does Scoblade work with custom or proprietary LMS platforms?
If your LMS supports SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004, it will work with Scoblade. For highly custom environments, our team can assist with integration during onboarding.
Infrastructure & Performance
What uptime does Scoblade guarantee?
Scoblade targets 99.99% availability. The platform runs on multi-AZ cloud infrastructure with automatic failover, load balancing, and continuous health monitoring.
How is content delivered to learners globally?
SCORM packages are served from edge nodes close to each learner's location. This reduces latency to under 50ms in most regions and ensures fast, reliable playback regardless of where learners are.
Can Scoblade handle large cohort launches simultaneously?
Yes. Scoblade's infrastructure auto-scales to handle large, simultaneous cohort launches. There are no soft limits on concurrent learner sessions for customers on enterprise plans.
What happens to learner data if connectivity is lost?
SCORM tracking data is buffered client-side and synced with Scoblade when connectivity is restored. Learner progress is not lost during brief interruptions.
Security & Privacy
How is content protected from unauthorized access?
Every SCORM session is initiated with a short-lived signed token. Tokens are scoped to a specific learner, package, and session window — preventing replay attacks and unauthorized access.
Is learner PII stored or shared by Scoblade?
Learner PII is encrypted at rest and in transit. It is scoped to the client organization that generated it and is never shared across tenants or used by Scoblade for any purpose outside delivery and reporting.
Is content encrypted in the Vault?
Yes. All SCORM assets stored in Vault are encrypted at rest using AES-256. Content is also encrypted in transit over TLS 1.2+.
Can I restrict which IP addresses or domains can launch content?
Yes. Access controls including domain allowlists and IP restrictions can be configured per client or per deployment endpoint from the Scoblade dashboard.
Reporting & Analytics
What learner data does Scoblade capture?
Scoblade captures all standard SCORM data points: completion status, score, time spent, interaction results, and suspend data. Events are available in real time via the reporting dashboard.
Can I view reports per client or per course?
Yes. The reporting dashboard lets you filter by client organization, course, date range, and learner. You can drill down from high-level completion rates to individual learner session details.
Can I export report data?
Yes. Reports can be downloaded as CSV or Excel from the dashboard. For automated delivery, scheduled exports can be configured to send reports to your inbox or data warehouse on a defined cadence.
Is reporting available in real time?
Learner activity and completions appear in the dashboard with minimal delay. For high-throughput deployments, data is typically visible within a few seconds of the learner event.
SCORM Sharing & Distribution
What does it mean to "share" a SCORM package with a client?
Sharing a SCORM package means giving a client or customer the ability to deliver your content through their own LMS. Traditionally this involved sending a ZIP file — but with Scoblade, sharing happens through a secure cloud-hosted delivery endpoint. Your client points their LMS at the endpoint and your content plays, with no file transfer required.
Why shouldn't I just send my client a SCORM ZIP file?
Sending ZIP files creates uncontrolled copies of your content. Once a client has the ZIP, you lose visibility into how it's used, you can't push updates, and you can't revoke access. Scoblade keeps your content in one place on cloud servers and delivers it through a controlled endpoint — you stay in control of every share.
Can I share the same SCORM content with multiple clients at once?
Yes. A single package in Scoblade can be shared with as many client organizations as you need. Each client gets their own delivery endpoint and license. You manage all of them from one dashboard — no duplicate files, no version drift.
Does sharing work with both SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004?
Yes. Scoblade supports sharing and delivery for both SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 (all editions). The runtime endpoint automatically handles the correct communication protocol based on the package format.
How is shared content delivered to a client's LMS?
Scoblade generates a launch endpoint for each client and package. Your client imports this into their LMS like any other SCORM course. The content is served from Scoblade's cloud delivery infrastructure — fast, reliable, and always under your control.
Can I revoke a client's access to shared content?
Yes. Licenses can be revoked or expired at any time from the Scoblade dashboard. Once a license is revoked, the client's endpoint stops working immediately — even if the content is still listed in their LMS.
What happens when I update content that I've already shared?
You upload the new version to Scoblade and promote it. All clients sharing that content automatically receive the updated version on their next launch — no new ZIP, no re-import, no communication needed. You control the rollout from a single place.
Can I share a specific version of content with one client and a different version with another?
Yes. Scoblade lets you assign specific versions per client. One client can run v1.2 while another runs v2.0. You control versioning independently for each share, which is useful when clients are on different update schedules.
Is the content I share protected from being copied or downloaded by clients?
Yes. Content delivered through Scoblade's cloud infrastructure is not directly downloadable. The SCORM assets are served dynamically through tokenized sessions — clients receive a launch experience, not access to the underlying ZIP or source files.
Do my clients need to do anything technical to receive shared content?
Minimal setup is required on the client side. They need a SCORM-compatible LMS and the endpoint URL you provide. No special software, no plugin installation, and no file management on their end.
Can I track how shared content is being used by each client?
Yes. Scoblade captures learner activity — completions, scores, time spent — across every shared deployment. You can view usage broken down by client, course, and individual learner in real time from the reporting dashboard.
Is there a limit on how many clients I can share content with?
Client limits depend on your plan. Scoblade is designed for publishers with large client networks, so high-volume sharing is a supported use case. Contact us to discuss your specific distribution scale.
